of how the DTD program starts up and automatically downloads radar
images.

1. MAKE
CERTAIN YOU ARE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET
Then
Run the Personal
DesktopDoppler from the Windows Program Menu.
If you aren't
connected to the Internet, DTD may try to startup your Dialup
Networking Connection and dial your modem for you. |
| |
|
|
|
|
 |
2.
DTD will run, then automatically connect to the
"Default" NEXRAD radar site and
download the latest image.
Depending on your Internet
Connection Speed, this may take from a few seconds to a minute
or more to complete the first image download. Please be
patient. |

|
|
 |
3.
If you wish to see the latest
image, click on the Scan Icon to
initiate a new image download and scan. Otherwise DTD will
automatically download a new image every five minutes when the
radar is in "precipitation mode" or every ten minutes when in
"clear air mode" |
| |
|
|
|
|
 |
4.
Let DTD run continuously either
in full screen mode or in minimized background mode. As it
does so, it will collect images and begin to build a history
of images for looping/animating the radar. It takes one
complete hour to get a full set of images to loop. |
|
|

|
5.
DTD can animate the radar
images using the START LOOP button. If there hasn't been a
complete hour elapsed, then you'll see some "blank" images but
it will still loop.
See more info on looping radar
images here. |
