Selecting a Radar Site

DesktopDoppler has every NEXRAD radar site in the continental USA, including Air Force weather radars,
plus NEXRAD's on Hawaii, Guam, and Puerto Rico. Its simply a matter of choosing the location in the program.

Here's a step by step outline of how the DTD program can be set to provide you personal storm alerts using the Nationwide NEXRAD Network:

1. Click on the DTD Tools Icon on the main DTD Window in the upper left corner.

2. You choose the NEXRAD radar for the state and location you are interested in.  This is done simply by choosing a state, then a location from the list using the DTD Tools Menu shown at left.  DTD will then automatically connect to the NEXRAD radar and download the latest image.

3. If you want to make this new radar site your "default" or startup radar site, check the "Set selected as default radar" checkbox.

Close the "DTD Tools" menu.

5. Click on the Scan Icon to initiate a new image download and scan.

6. Let DTD run continuously either in full screen mode or in minimized background mode.

7. DTD will then always monitor your new radar site location and will load this radar site when it starts up the next time.
