1. Let DTD run continuously either in full screen mode

IMPORTANT NOTE: DTD must have a Radar image that is in PRECIP mode in order for the Analyzer to work. This feature is disabled when the radar is running in Clear Air Mode.
See more info on this here

2. When the radar is operating in PRECIP MODE ...DTD displays a checkbox in the upper left of the main program window labled ANALYZE.

3. Click the checkbox to turn on the VIP Analyzer

4. You'll see the DesktopDoppler VIP Analyzer Window popup. Its currently not showing any color on the far left.

5. Move your cursor over an area of precipitation. Then left click once to have the VIP Analyzer display the color, the Reflectivity Level in decibels, the VIP color number, and the likely precipitation that is occurring as represented by the color. You can click on many areas of the screen to repeatedly analyze different storm areas.

You can also reposition the VIP Analyzer box by dragging it using the title bar if you wish.

6. When you are done, click the checkbox again to turn OFF the VIP Analyzer
